  • Coin Drive: North Polk Community School District and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office have partnered with Special Olympics of Iowa, in order to support Special Olympic Athletes. Big Creek, West, and Central are hosting coin drives to raise money to help make a positive impact on the lives of Special Olympic Athletes. During the week of April 17-21, students will be invited to bring coins or bills to school. All proceeds will go toward supporting Special Olympics Athletes, and all support is appreciated.   • Wild Wednesdays: Elkhart Christian Church is hosting Wild Wednesdays starting in January.  This program is for 1st through 5th-grade students. The main focus will be learning to be a community, with games, and snacks right after school.  Music and crafts, and a meal with some elders from our community while learning something new.
