Student Enrollment Study

  • North Polk recently partnered with RSP & Associates on an updated enrollment analysis to aid in the district’s long term facilities planning. The study considers factors such as past and current student enrollment, current and anticipated residential development in the area, and other data to calculate projected student enrollment over the next 10 years. The district will use RSP's report and maps to better understand demographic trends, school utilization, and the timing of construction projects.

While the entire report is over 35 pages, three of the graphs have been pulled that best highlight the district’s anticipated growth. The first graph shows past, current, and future enrollment between the years of 2000-2029. The second graph shows predicted building enrollment numbers and indicates if and when a building may reach capacity. The third graph drills down to identify anticipated student enrollment by grade level through the 2028-29 school year.

RSP is based out of Kansas and helps educational institutions plan for the future by using reliable forecasting techniques integrated with new technologies. Their statistical analyses are proven to be 98% accurate, and their serves are used by several school districts in the area, including Ankeny, Waukee, West Des Moines, and Johnston, among others.

The following are excerpts from RSP's findings:
