    Spring Break

    Central Elementary Staff wishes you a safe and fun Spring Break!   No School Friday, March 15-March 22, for Spring Break.


     The Last Week of School

    Due to the winter weather we have had this year, the last day of school is Friday, May 31 with an 11:30 a.m. dismissal. That means we will come to school for the FULL DAY on Tuesday, May 28; Wednesday May 29; and Thursday, May 30. Thank you!

     K-12 Art Show

    The Ankeny Art Center has invited the K-12 art students at NP Schools to display their work at the gallery from March 19th through April 3rd.  Students who have art work displayed and their guests are invited to attend a private gallery opening reception from 5:00-7:00, Thursday, March 28th at the Art Center.

     

    Art Show Hours:

    Closed Sunday and Monday, 

    Tuesday-Friday: 9am-1pm

    Thursday: 4pm-7pm

    Saturday: 9am-noon


    PTA

    Spring Break Reading Inventive went home with your child. Every day your child reads, have them read and record their minutes. Please return completed forms to school by Fri. March 29th. 

    The North Polk Central PTA Reading Challenge Fundraiser forms and donations should be returned by March 14th.  If you for got please turn in Mon. March 29th.  Thanks for your support of Central Elementary teachers and reading!

    Our next meeting is Monday April 15th so mark your calendars!


    AES Softball Registration

    AES SOFTBALL registration for the 2019 softball is still open. Registration forms are available in the Central Elementary office. All forms are due by March 15th and there is no late fee.

    **If your child currently attends Central or West Elementary they are automatically rolled over to the kindergarten list**

    Starting Monday, January 21, Parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before September 15, 2019 are requested to go to the North Polk Homepage to place their child's name on the kindergarten list.     North Polk is hosting an equipment swap of gently used sporting equipment.  Clean out your closets and garage to donate used sporting equipment.   

    Old North Polk uniforms and equipment will also be available at the swap for a good will donation. 

    Start looking through your equipment you don’t use anymore and want to donate for others to use.  All sporting equipment, dance, outdoor and indoor items that are in gently used shape can be donated.   

     Any proceeds to go the North Polk Athletic Boosters.

    Ballard Sharks Swim Club
     
    Ballard Sharks Swim Club is a competitive swim club open to youth in and around southern Story, north Polk, and eastern Boone counties. Our home pool is in Slater.    

    Practice Information: Monday-Friday from 7:50-8:55 am (1st-3rd year swimmers) & 6:45-8:00am (4+ years of swimming)

    Summer Sailing Camps 
     
    Starting in 2019, the Saylorville Yacht Club Sailing School, a non-profit school focused on developing young sailors and water enthusiasts.  We're expanding our sailing summer camp offering into three courses:
    While the students are in class, our US Sailing Certified Instructors will teach campers sailing basics, safety on/around the water, and how to sail a boat on the water (youth and teen).
