School Resource Officer
The School Resource Officer’s (SRO) responsibilities are divided into three areas: Educator, Informal Counselor, and Law Enforcement Officer. The SRO program is a collaborative effort by police agencies, law enforcement officers, school administrators, educators, students, parents and communities. The goal of the SRO program is to provide safe learning environment in the school, provide valuable resources to staff and students, foster relationships with the youth, and develop strategies to resolve problems affecting our youth with the objective of protecting every student so they can reach their potential.
North Polk's SRO spends school days on-site assisting the students, staff and families of the district. The SRO collaborates with the Polk City Police Department to support the school district and the SRO program. Together, they are committed to making a difference by positively impacting youth.
