Welcome to North Polk's Transportation Department!

Our dedicated transportation team is committed to ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school every day. Our team consists of skilled yellow bus drivers, as well as van and suburban drivers. We prioritize building strong relationships with both students and staff, and take great pride in delivering this essential service.

Here's a glimpse of our transportation services:

• 21 Yellow Bus Routes
• 1 Suburban Route
• 2 Yellow Bus Noon Routes
• 1 Suburban Noon Route
• A total of 23 Yellow Bus Routes and 2 Suburban Routes
• We operate a fleet of 29 buses with a combined capacity of 2,092 passengers.
• Additionally, we have 3 wheelchair lift-equipped buses, with 2 in regular service and 1 available as a spare.
• Our fleet also includes 3 Minivans and 2 Suburbans.

Transportation Request 2024-2025:

If you need to make a transportation change during the academic year (September 16, 2024 - through April 2025), or anticipate requiring transportation services on more than two occasions per week, please complete the Transportation Request Form. Please allow at least one week for requests to be updated in Infinite Campus.Transportation Request Form

Activity Shuttle:

Our Activity Shuttle Bus service is designed to provide a hassle-free way for students to get to activities before and after school operating from Tuesday to Thursday. We offer multiple routes and schedules to accommodate various locations.

Morning Shuttle Routes:

Route 1:

• Leave Alleman: 6:10 AM
• Elkhart Post Office: 6:24 AM
• Ankeny North Gate Apts (NE Lowell Lane & NE Cassady Lane): 6:39 AM
• Return to Alleman: 6:48 AM

Route 2:

• Leave Alleman: 6:00 AM
• Sheldahl Post Office: 6:16 AM
• Polk City West Elementary: 6:35 AM
• Return to Alleman: 6:50 AM

Afternoon Shuttle Routes:

Route 1:

• Line up: 5:15 PM
• Leave: 5:30 PM
• Elkhart Post Office
• Ankeny North Gate Apts
• Ankeny North Gate Hillcrest
• Ankeny Executive Woods

Route 2:

• Line up: 5:15 PM
• Leave: 5:30 PM
• Polk City West Elementary
• Sheldahl Post Office

Route 3 (If Needed):

Our transportation department is under the leadership of Marcy Hanigan, who serves as the Director of Transportation for the district.
