On Friday, September 20, Central Elementary Students will be traveling to Polk City for the North Polk Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally! The parade starts at 2:15 pm. Central Preschool through 3rd Grade students will be sitting with their classes near the Kum and Go area on West Broadway. Central 4th and 5th Graders will be walking in the parade!
To minimize student belongings on this day:
Backpacks can stay at home.
If your child eats cold lunch, bring a sack lunch that can be disposed of instead of using a lunch box.
Band instruments will stay at the school for the weekend.
If you are planning to join in on the festivities and take your child home from the Pep Rally, please let your child’s teacher or the office know as soon as possible. If you choose to do so, you will need to sign them out with your child’s teacher at the conclusion of the Pep Rally. Students will be dismissed from Polk City at 3:30 pm. If your child’s normal after school plan is to walk home or to be picked up at Central, there will be a delay before your child is back to Central. If your child rides the bus, there may be some variation on what time he or she will arrive home.
The school will plan for normal after school plans unless we hear otherwise from you. If your child has specific needs around this afternoon, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.
Picture Retake Day Has Been Changed
Picture retakes will be on Friday, October 11. Retakes are for anyone who missed getting a picture taken on back to school night, and anyone who wishes to have their picture retaken. If your child is having his/her picture retaken, the original picture packet must be returned on Retake Day. (we have not received pictures yet) You may order on https://mylifetouch.com Picture Day ID: BN109042Q1 or picture forms in the office.
