To meet the growing needs of our students, the North Polk Board of Education is calling for a special election to be held on March 3, 2020 for the sale of up to $15 million in general obligation bonds. Funds generated from the passage of the bond referendum would help to alleviate capacity issues district buildings are facing due to rapid growth in student enrollment. Voter approval would allow the district to construct an upper elementary building and an academic addition to the existing high schoolTaxes will not be increased by the construction of these projects; the district is simply seeking a continuation of the current debt service tax. Service Learning Project
We are doing a service learning project throughout the rest of the school year.  One grade level a month will be collecting donations for the Comet Cupboard, which is located in front of the Methodist Church here in Polk City.  Families in need can take items out of the cupboard and it would be great to help keep it full.  A flyer will come home with more information and donation suggestions with your child when it is their grade level's turn.  Send the donations to school with your child and we will get them delivered.  Thanks for your donations and generosity!
Please contact Toni Leigh, leigh@northpolk.org, with any questions.
