21 Students Earn the Distinguished Award: The Seal of Biliteracy
Twenty-one seniors from North Polk High School have earned the 2024-2025 Seal of Biliteracy. This prestigious award recognizes students who show advanced proficiency in two or more languages, including English. By achieving this, they stand out among most high school graduates in the US and are on their way to becoming global citizens.
The Seal of Biliteracy Exam is a rigorous, comprehensive, and demanding assessment proctored across the United States and is comprised of four distinct sections.
To receive the Seal, students must score at least Intermediate Level 5 in all sections, which test their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The writing section involves writing three essays on different topics, while the reading and listening sections have multiple-choice questions. In the speaking section, students respond verbally to three prompts and record their answers on their Chromebooks.
Congratulations to these students and our entire Spanish Department on this amazing achievement.
