Congratulations to three North Polk High School vocalists on being accepted into the Iowa All-State Chorus over the weekend! This is an incredible honor and a fantastic accomplishment. This achievement marks the third year in a row that North Polk has had students accepted into the All-State Chorus, which hasn’t been done since 2002.
- Amelia Growdon (Soprano 1) - 1st Year
- Liam Triplett (Baritone) - 1st Year
- Canon Krantz (Baritone) - 1st Year
These students have achieved the highest honor for Iowa high school musicians by earning a spot in the Iowa All-State Festival. They will rehearse in Ames on November 20-21, culminating in a Festival Concert at 7:30 PM on November 22 at Hilton Coliseum, Iowa State University. This year marks the 79th anniversary of this prestigious event.
District auditions for the 276-piece All-State Band, 214-piece All-State Orchestra, and 601-member All-State Chorus were held on October 25, 2025. Approximately 17% of students who audition are selected for these ensembles. The concert will be recorded by Iowa PBS for later rebroadcast. For more details on dates and times, please visit the Iowa PBS website (www.iowapbs.org). This program is supported by the Iowa High School Music Association and the Iowa Music Educators Association.
Congratulations to these students!
