ALLEMAN, Iowa - Almost a year ago, voters in the North Polk district went to the ballot box to vote on a proposition set forth that would allow the district to sell up to $17 million in general obligation bonds.

Thanks to the resounding support from the community, the passage was successful. As a result, funds were allocated to three different projects: the construction of a new Career Tech Addition to the High School, an additional baseball/softball complex, and complete classroom upgrades at West and Central Elementary Schools.

After a year of gathering insight, feedback, and planning, we are starting to see progress on our new baseball and softball fields!

The light posts are up, outfield fences and backstops are taking shape, and the pitching mounds are ready. Turf installation is set to start the week of November 11th, weather permitting. The week of October 21, the concession stand foundations will begin alongside underground plumbing. In addition, the baseball dugout CMU block will begin the week following.

On the other side of the campus, the foundations of the Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) are taking shape, with on-site activity steadily increasing. On Wednesday, October 23rd, crews began placing the precast wall panels. Weather permitting, they anticipate setting 12-15 panels per day, aiming for completion of the precast work—including steel beams and roof decking—within 3-5 weeks.

We will continue to provide updates to the public as these projects progress.
