On Wednesday, October 22, North Polk proudly took part in Unity Day, a national event created by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to promote kindness and acceptance while taking a stand against bullying.

This year, Unity Day came to life in our buildings in many ways. Bright orange banners lined the common spaces, and students and staff wore orange to show their support for creating a welcoming and safe school environment. One of the highlights of the day was when secondary students visited elementary classrooms to read books about friendship, empathy, and kindness. These shared moments helped build connections across grade levels and sparked meaningful conversations about how we can all choose kindness each day.

Throughout the day, classrooms engaged in activities and discussions centered around creating a culture of respect and support for all students.

Thank you to everyone, including a special shoutout to our counselors throughout the district, who helped bring Unity Day to life in our schools. Whether through a book, a banner, a conversation, or simply wearing orange, we showed that when we stand together, we are stronger.
