Every final Friday of the month, the Central Elementary 5th graders have a chance to show off their entrepreneurial skills and showcase products they have created, compiled, or are willing to sell. These goods can range from drawings to baked items, to popcorn, to handmade bracelets.
Throughout the week, students are given daily jobs that help make the classroom run efficiently. This can include helping wipe off the board, passing out papers, etc. With those tasks, students can earn dollars, (pictured) to help pay for some of the great products offered during business time. The students had to learn how to create products, create a sales pitch, advertise, learn how to count money and correct change, and finally, the art of negotiation. We stopped by to check out the fun experience and to see our young entrepreneurs. See the video of this story above.
