North Polk CSD Announces New Activities Director
May 2, 2023
Pending board approval, Matt Eichhorn will become the next Activities Director for North Polk High School starting July 1, 2023.
Matt brings with him a wealth of experience, having most recently been the 7-12 Activities Director for the Woodward-Granger CSD (WGCSD) from 2017-2023. While at WGCSD, Mr. Eichhorn supported all activities and helped launch multiple programs, including Show Choir, E-Sports, and Girls Wrestling. He also served on the Central District Executive Board for the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association (IHSADA) from 2020-2023.
Prior to his tenure at Woodward-Granger, Eichhorn was the Activities Coordinator at West Des Moines, Valley High School from 2012-2017. He began his career in education by coaching baseball at both the high school and collegiate levels. Along with coaching, Eichhorn served the West Des Moines Community School District as a substitute teacher and behavior interventionist.
He went on to earn his Master's degree in teaching from Augustana University (Sioux Falls, SD) in 2007. Eichhorn and his wife of 13 years, Ashley, have 2 children, Emree and Easton.
Eichhorn and his family are excited about this new chapter in their lives and are grateful for the opportunity to serve the North Polk Community School District.
Please help welcome Matt to the NPCSD!
